Publication Policies

At the Journal of Emerging Drug Formulation Technologies (JEDFT), we are committed to maintaining the highest standards of publication ethics and integrity. Our policies are designed to ensure that all published work is of high quality, original, and contributes meaningfully to the field of drug formulation technologies.

1. Authorship and Contributorship

  • Authorship Criteria: Authorship should be limited to those who have made a significant contribution to the conception, design, execution, or interpretation of the reported study. All authors must approve the final manuscript before submission.
  • Contributorship: Individuals who contributed to the work but do not meet the authorship criteria should be acknowledged in the manuscript’s acknowledgments section.
  • Corresponding Author: The corresponding author is responsible for ensuring that all authors have agreed to the submission and for communicating with the journal during the submission and review process.

2. Originality and Plagiarism

  • Original Work: Submissions must be original and not under consideration or published elsewhere. The journal uses plagiarism detection tools to check for similarities with previously published work.
  • Plagiarism Policy: Any form of plagiarism is unacceptable and will lead to the rejection of the manuscript. The journal follows strict guidelines in cases of suspected plagiarism, which may include contacting the authors’ institutions.

3. Peer Review Process

  • Double-Blind Review: JEDFT employs a double-blind peer review process, where both the reviewers and authors are anonymized to ensure impartiality.
  • Review Process: Manuscripts are reviewed by at least two independent experts in the field. The editorial board makes the final decision based on reviewers’ recommendations.
  • Revisions: Authors may be asked to revise their manuscripts based on reviewers’ feedback. All revisions should be submitted within the specified timeframe.

4. Data Access and Retention

  • Data Availability: Authors should be prepared to provide raw data related to their manuscript for editorial review and must be willing to make such data available publicly if required.
  • Data Retention: Authors are expected to retain raw data for a reasonable time after publication and must be willing to provide access to such data if necessary.

5. Conflict of Interest

  • Disclosure: All authors must disclose any financial or other significant conflicts of interest that might influence the results or interpretation of their manuscript.
  • Funding Sources: Authors should also acknowledge all sources of financial support for the research.

6. Ethical Oversight

  • Research Ethics: Research involving human participants or animals must have been conducted according to ethical standards. A statement detailing the ethical approval and consent procedures must be included in the manuscript.
  • Ethical Misconduct: The journal adheres to the COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics) guidelines in handling cases of ethical misconduct.

7. Copyright and Licensing

  • Copyright Transfer: Upon acceptance of the manuscript, authors are required to transfer copyright to the journal. The journal retains the rights to distribute and reproduce the work.
  • Licensing: JEDFT offers both open access and subscription-based publication models. For open access, the work is licensed under a Creative Commons license, allowing for free distribution and use with appropriate credit to the authors.

8. Retractions and Corrections

  • Retractions: The journal reserves the right to retract articles in cases of serious ethical breaches, such as plagiarism or data fabrication.
  • Corrections: Authors are encouraged to notify the journal of any significant errors in their published work. The journal will issue corrections or retractions as necessary.

9. Appeals and Complaints

  • Appeals: Authors have the right to appeal editorial decisions. Appeals must be made in writing, detailing the reasons for the appeal. The editorial board will review the appeal and make a final decision.
  • Complaints: Any complaints regarding the editorial process, peer review, or publication ethics should be directed to the editorial board. The journal is committed to addressing all complaints fairly and promptly.

10. Archiving and Digital Preservation

  • Digital Preservation: The journal ensures the long-term preservation of its published content through partnerships with digital preservation services.
  • Archiving: All articles are archived in secure repositories and are accessible through the journal’s website.
