Asian Journal of Research in Gerontological Nursing (AJRGN)

The Asian Journal of Research in Gerontological Nursing (AJRGN) is committed to maintaining the highest standards of publication ethics and integrity. We adhere to the guidelines set forth by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and expect our authors, reviewers, and editors to uphold these principles.

1. Authorship Criteria:

  • Authorship Eligibility: All authors listed on a manuscript should have made significant contributions to the conception, design, execution, or interpretation of the reported study. Individuals who contributed to the manuscript but do not meet the criteria for authorship should be acknowledged appropriately.
  • Corresponding Author: The corresponding author is responsible for ensuring that all co-authors have approved the final version of the manuscript and agree to its submission for publication.
  • Changes in Authorship: Any changes to the list of authors after submission must be approved by all co-authors and the editorial office.

2. Originality and Plagiarism:

  • Original Work: Manuscripts submitted to AJRGN must be original and not under consideration or published in another journal. We do not tolerate plagiarism in any form, including self-plagiarism.
  • Plagiarism Detection: All manuscripts are subject to plagiarism screening using reliable detection tools. Manuscripts found to contain plagiarism will be rejected.

3. Peer Review Process:

  • Double-Blind Review: AJRGN employs a double-blind peer review process to ensure unbiased evaluation. Reviewers do not know the identities of the authors, and vice versa.
  • Reviewer Responsibilities: Reviewers are expected to provide objective and constructive feedback within the agreed-upon timeframe. They should disclose any conflicts of interest that may affect their review.
  • Confidentiality: Reviewers must treat all submitted manuscripts as confidential documents and must not disclose any information about them to others.

4. Conflict of Interest:

  • Disclosure: Authors, reviewers, and editors must disclose any potential conflicts of interest that could influence the outcome or reporting of research. This includes financial, personal, or professional relationships.
  • Management: The editorial team will manage conflicts of interest to ensure the integrity of the review process and published content.

5. Data Access and Retention:

  • Data Availability: Authors should be prepared to provide raw data related to their manuscript for editorial review if requested and should retain such data for a reasonable time after publication.
  • Data Sharing: Authors are encouraged to share their research data in a publicly accessible repository, provided it does not compromise privacy or confidentiality.

6. Ethical Approval:

  • Research Involving Humans or Animals: Manuscripts reporting research involving human subjects or animals must include a statement of ethical approval from a relevant institutional review board or ethics committee.
  • Informed Consent: Authors must confirm that informed consent was obtained from all human participants in studies involving human subjects.

7. Corrections and Retractions:

  • Corrections: If errors are discovered in a published article, authors should notify the journal immediately. Corrections will be made at the discretion of the editors.
  • Retractions: In cases of serious ethical breaches, such as fabrication or falsification of data, the journal may retract the published article. The retraction notice will be clearly linked to the original article.

8. Copyright and Licensing:

  • Copyright Transfer: Upon acceptance, authors will be required to transfer copyright of the article to AJRGN. The journal will, in turn, grant authors the right to share and distribute their work in line with the journal’s open-access policy.
  • Open Access License: AJRGN publishes articles under a Creative Commons Attribution License (CC BY), which allows for free distribution and reuse, provided proper attribution is given to the original work.

9. Appeals and Complaints:

  • Appeals: Authors who believe that their manuscript was unjustly rejected may appeal the decision. Appeals must be submitted in writing and will be reviewed by the editorial board.
  • Complaints: Any complaints regarding the editorial process should be directed to the editor-in-chief and will be handled according to the journal’s complaints procedure.

10. Editorial Independence:

  • Independence: The editorial team operates independently of any external influences, including sponsors, advertisers, or other third parties. Decisions are based solely on the academic merit of the submitted work.

Commitment to Integrity:

AJRGN is dedicated to promoting transparency, integrity, and ethical practices in scholarly publishing. We encourage our authors, reviewers, and readers to engage with the journal in a manner that upholds these values.
