The International Journal of Innovation in Pharmacy Education (IJIPE) is committed to upholding the highest standards of publication ethics and integrity. Our publication policies are designed to ensure the credibility, transparency, and reliability of the research we publish. We adhere to the guidelines set by international ethical standards for scholarly publishing.
1. Ethical Standards
- Authorship: All authors listed on a manuscript should have made significant contributions to the research. The order of authorship should reflect the relative contributions of each author. Authors are expected to accurately present their work and ensure that no authorship disputes arise post-publication.
- Originality and Plagiarism: Manuscripts submitted to IJIPE must be original work and must not have been published previously or be under consideration for publication elsewhere. We employ plagiarism detection tools to ensure the originality of all submissions. Any form of plagiarism is unacceptable and will result in the rejection of the manuscript.
- Conflict of Interest: Authors must disclose any potential conflicts of interest that could influence the interpretation of their research. Reviewers and editors must also disclose any conflicts of interest and recuse themselves from handling manuscripts where a conflict exists.
2. Peer Review Process
- Double-Blind Review: IJIPE follows a double-blind peer review process, where both the identities of authors and reviewers are kept confidential. This process ensures an unbiased assessment of the manuscript.
- Reviewer Responsibilities: Reviewers are expected to provide constructive feedback and evaluate manuscripts based on their scientific rigor, originality, clarity, and relevance to the journal’s scope. Reviewers must maintain confidentiality and avoid using any information obtained during the review process for personal advantage.
- Decision-Making: The final decision to accept, revise, or reject a manuscript rests with the Editor-in-Chief, who may consult with the editorial board. Authors will receive detailed feedback from the reviewers, along with the editor’s decision.
3. Publication Ethics
- Data Fabrication and Falsification: IJIPE strictly prohibits the fabrication or falsification of data. Any manipulation of research data that could result in false conclusions is considered unethical and will lead to the rejection of the manuscript and possible sanctions.
- Redundant Publication: Authors must avoid redundant or duplicate publication. Submitting the same manuscript to multiple journals or publishing similar content in different papers without appropriate citations is considered unethical.
- Correction and Retraction: If significant errors or ethical breaches are identified post-publication, IJIPE will issue corrections or retract the article as necessary. Retractions will be clearly marked and explained to maintain the integrity of the academic record.
4. Open Access Policy
- Open Access: IJIPE is an open-access journal, providing immediate and free access to its content. We believe that open access fosters knowledge sharing and contributes to the advancement of pharmacy education.
- Licensing: Articles published in IJIPE are distributed under the terms of the Creative Commons Attribution License, which permits unrestricted use, distribution, and reproduction in any medium, provided the original work is properly cited.
5. Copyright and Licensing
- Copyright Transfer: Upon acceptance of a manuscript, authors will be required to transfer copyright to IJIPE. This transfer allows IJIPE to disseminate the work while granting the authors rights to use their content for scholarly and educational purposes.
- Author Rights: Authors retain the right to share their published work in institutional repositories, personal websites, and for teaching purposes, provided proper citation is given to the original publication in IJIPE.
6. Archiving and Preservation
- Digital Archiving: IJIPE ensures the long-term preservation of its published content through digital archiving in recognized repositories. This guarantees that articles remain accessible and citable in the future.
- Self-Archiving: Authors are encouraged to deposit a copy of their published articles in institutional or subject-based repositories, in accordance with the journal’s open-access policy.
7. Appeals and Complaints
- Appeals: Authors who wish to appeal a rejection decision may submit a formal appeal letter to the Editor-in-Chief. The appeal must provide a detailed explanation and any new evidence that supports the reconsideration of the manuscript.
- Complaints: IJIPE takes complaints regarding the publication process seriously. Complaints should be directed to the editorial office, and they will be handled in a fair and transparent manner.
8. Compliance with Standards
- Ethical Oversight: IJIPE adheres to the ethical guidelines set by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and follows the best practices in scholarly publishing.
- Research Ethics: Authors must ensure that their research complies with ethical standards, including obtaining necessary approvals from institutional review boards (IRBs) or ethics committees, particularly when human or animal subjects are involved.
